There are numerous places to explore through the estuaries, rivers, creeks and open ocean throughout Nassau County. This creates a unique opportunity to build an extensive Blueway System from within the county to the ocean as well as to our neighbors to the north and south, creating opportunities to explore and enhance eco-tourism for the county. There are parks and boat launches along some of these facilities. There are a few recognized blueway "trails," however, there is the desire to create a larger system to encourage more recreation, tourism, education and community development along these facilities.
